The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs. 54.4420 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs. 70.5005 on March 14, 2013. The corresponding rates for the previous day (March 13, 2013) were Rs. 54.1100 and Rs. 70.5545 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Note : The SDR-Rupee rate will be based on the reference rate.

Reference exchange rates published by the central bank set rupee conversions for major currencies and determine the SDR Rupee basis. The Reserve Bank of India published Reference Rates for the US dollar and the Euro on March 14, 2013, with prior day comparisons; it also provided derived rupee rates for the British pound and for 100 Japanese yen using the US dollar reference and cross currency middle rates, and specified that the SDR Rupee rate will be based on the published Reference Rate.
