The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs. 54.1100 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs. 70.5545 on March 13, 2013. The corresponding rates for the previous day (March 12, 2013) were Rs. 54.3365 and Rs. 70.7315 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

Note : The SDR-Rupee rate will be based on the reference rate.

Reference rate publication sets rupee benchmarks and underpins cross currency and SDR rupee conversions for market use. The Reserve Bank of India issued daily reference rates for the US dollar and the euro as rupee benchmarks, and, using the US dollar reference rate together with middle cross currency quotes, derived exchange rates for other currencies such as the GBP and JPY; the SDR Rupee rate is stated to be based on the published reference rate.
