<h1>India's January 2013 ECB and FCCB Data: Over $3.5 Billion Borrowed for Projects, Refinancing, and Imports.</h1> The Reserve Bank of India released data on External Commercial Borrowings (ECB) and Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds (FCCB) for January 2013. The data includes transactions through both the Automatic and Approval Routes. Under the Automatic Route, a total of USD 637,851,085 was borrowed by various companies for purposes such as new projects, modernization, and import of capital goods. The Approval Route accounted for USD 2,876,170,436, with significant borrowings for refinancing, import of capital goods, and onward lending. The overall borrowing for the month totaled USD 3,514,021,521.
