The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the implementation of the development of four laning of Bhuban-Dubari-Chandikhole section of National Highway-200 in Orissa under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase III on Design, Build, Finance Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis in Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) (Toll) mode of delivery. The total length of this section will be 62.185 kms. The total cost of the project will be Rs.732.22 crore including Rs. 80.22 crore for land acquisition, rehabilitation and pre construction activities.

The main object of the project is to expedite the improvement of infrastructure in the state of Orissa and also in reducing the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Bhuban-Dubari-Chandikhole. The NH-200 is a major link for ore mines between Dubari to Paradeep Port. It will also increase the employment potential for local labourers for project activities. The project is covered in the districts of Dhenkanal and Jajpur in Orissa.
