India's Trade with GCC, West Asia, and North Africa Rose 75.91% to $188.87 Billion from 2009 to 2012.
Trade between India and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, West Asian countries, and North African countries increased by 75.91% from 2009-10 to 2011-12, reaching approximately US$ 188.87 billion. India's exports to these regions include gems, petroleum, transport equipment, and pharmaceuticals. Despite a projected growth to US$ 241 billion in 2012-13, a global trade slowdown suggests a more conservative estimate of US$ 200 billion. Free Trade Agreement negotiations with the GCC have stalled since 2008, while talks with Israel continue. The GCC is reviewing its negotiation strategies with India and China.
