of <h1>DRI seizes Rs 35 crore Chinese firecrackers in Operation Fire Trail, arrests SEZ partner for smuggling</h1> The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized Chinese firecrackers and fireworks valued at Rs 35 crore during 'Operation Fire Trail'. The 100 metric tonnes of illegal imports were concealed in seven containers at Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Kandla ports. The contraband was misdeclared as decorative plants, artificial flowers, and plastic mats through a SEZ unit and various importers. One individual, a partner in the SEZ unit, was arrested for smuggling through misdeclaration and misuse of SEZ provisions. The person was remanded to judicial custody while investigations continue.
