Power tariff increase prompts modest rise with targeted rebates for mobile towers, rural healthcare and agricultural consumers.
The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission authorised an average increase in power tariffs effective from July 1, raising domestic, non domestic and agricultural rates while retaining or expanding targeted concessions. Agricultural pump tariff increases are borne by the State government so consumers are not directly affected. Concessions include a 10% rebate for mobile towers in LWE affected districts, continued rural and tribal healthcare rebates, a 10% rebate for poha and puffed rice mills, rebates for women SHG enterprises, and an increased advance payment discount.
