<h1>Government suspends 22 excise officials named in Rs 3200 crore liquor scam chargesheet</h1> The Chhattisgarh government suspended 22 excise officials after they were named as accused in a chargesheet filed in an alleged liquor scam case. The officials include 12 assistant commissioners, five deputy commissioners, three district excise officers and two assistant district excise officials. The state's Anti Corruption Bureau and Economic Offence Wing filed its fourth supplementary chargesheet naming 29 excise officials as accused, seven of whom have retired. The investigation revealed the alleged scam was worth more than Rs 3200 crore, involving unaccounted duty paid liquor sold parallel to legitimate sales from government liquor shops across 15 districts between 2019-2023.
