Tiruvarur (Tamil Nadu), Jul 10 (PTI) Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin on Thursday said the "Oraniyil Tamil Nadu" membership enrolment campaign of his party is journeying towards victory.

Stalin, who led the membership drive at Sannathi Street here said the campaign has crossed "50 lakh members" and it is on its way towards success.

Late DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi (1924-2018), a native of Tiruvarur district, was a resident of Sannathi Street here during a certain period of time.

In this campaign, Tiruchuli Assembly constituency (Virudhunagar District) has garnered the first place by enrolling 54,310 new members and 30,975 families, the chief minister said in a social media post.

The CM congratulated district party secretary, Finance Minister Thangam Thenarasu, for the work and the latter thanked him for the encouragement.

On July 1, Stalin launched the Oraniyil Tamil Nadu (Tamil Nadu as a single team) campaign to enroll as party members, 30 per cent voters in every polling station. On July 3, the DMK kickstarted a 45-day door-to-door campaign to garner support.

The CM had said that the OTN comprised election campaign (Assembly election is due in the month of April, 2026), membership enrolment, the DMK government's achievements and the Centre's betrayal of Tamil Nadu as well.
