Government requires Aadhaar authentication for disability skill development benefits including transport allowance and support
The government has mandated Aadhaar authentication for beneficiaries under the National Action Plan for Skill Development of Persons with Disabilities to access cash benefits including transport allowance, boarding, lodging, and post-placement support. The scheme, launched in 2015, provides vocational training to enhance employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. While Aadhaar is required, eligible individuals without the document can use alternative identification until enrollment is completed. The ministry clarified no eligible child will be denied benefits due to lack of Aadhaar or authentication failure. Alternative authentication methods are available when biometric verification fails.
