<h1>Prime Minister highlights Digital India's decade of success: internet users jumped from 25 crore to 97 crore</h1> The Prime Minister asserted that the Digital India initiative launched a decade ago successfully bridged the digital divide and democratized opportunities across the country. Internet connections grew from 25 crore in 2014 to over 97 crore today, with extensive optical fiber infrastructure reaching remote villages. The government implemented various digital platforms including UPI handling 100+ billion annual transactions, Direct Benefit Transfer saving Rs 3.48 lakh crore in leakages, and ONDC crossing 200 million transactions. Digital infrastructure now supports MSMEs through platforms like GeM, which achieved Rs 1 lakh crore GMV with 22 lakh sellers. India ranks among top three startup ecosystems globally with 1.8 lakh startups and leads in AI development through the USD 1.2 billion India AI Mission.
