<h1>Reservation chart timing advanced to eight hours pre departure and Tatkal bookings require authenticated users and OTP verification.</h1> The Ministry of Railways advanced reservation chart preparation for long distance trains from four hours to eight hours before departure to aid passengers and linked this change to an upgraded PRS with higher booking capacity, multilingual interfaces, seat choice and fare calendar. The ministry also restricted Tatkal bookings to authenticated users and required OTP based authentication, expanding acceptable authentication to Aadhaar or other verifiable government IDs in DigiLocker.
