He argued that the Constitution's non discrimination guarantee already addresses religious equality, that India's approach to religion is one of positive alignment rather than neutral secularism, and that India's economic tradition of trusteeship differs from socialism, which he says harmed competitiveness and was later displaced by liberalisation.
