<h1>India Leads Global Surge in Services Sector Growth: 8.1% GDP Rise from 2001 to 2011.</h1> India experienced the highest increase in the share of services in GDP among the top 15 countries from 2001 to 2011, with an 8.1 percentage point rise. The services sector has been a key driver of India's economic growth, contributing significantly to national and state incomes, trade, FDI inflows, and employment. By 2012-13, the services sector's share in India's GDP at factor cost reached 56.5%, or 64.8% including construction. The largest contributors were trade, hotels, and restaurants (18%), followed by financing, insurance, real estate, and business services (16.6%), and community, social, and personal services (14%).
