The Self-Help Group-Bank Linkage Programme, involving commercial, regional rural, and cooperative banks, has expanded significantly, with 81.74 lakh savings-linked groups by November 2012. The Swabhimaan scheme has extended banking facilities to over 84,450 habitations, including those in the North-East and hilly regions. Ultra small branches have been established for better service delivery, with over 40,000 set up. The Direct Benefit Transfer scheme was launched in January 2013, targeting 43 districts. Agricultural credit disbursement exceeded targets, and the Kisan Credit Card scheme continued to support farmers' access to institutional credit.
