<h1>Rajasthan Punjab launch Rs 647 crore Gang Canal feeder project to irrigate 3.14 lakh hectares by 2027</h1> The Chief Ministers of Rajasthan and Punjab discussed the Firozpur Feeder Reconstruction Project, a Rs 647.62 crore joint initiative to strengthen the Gang Canal system serving northwestern Rajasthan districts. Punjab will contribute 58.54% of costs while Rajasthan contributes 41.46%. The project, approved by the Central Water Commission, will increase feeder capacity from 11,192 to 13,842 cusecs, benefiting over 3.14 lakh hectares of irrigated land. Construction aims to begin this year and complete by 2027, with Rs 200 crore already allocated in the state budget for improved irrigation and crop productivity.
