<h1>Department creation: new Department of Future inaugurated to provide policy recommendations and build interdepartmental capacity.</h1> Creation of the Department of Future establishes a state institutional mechanism to anticipate emerging challenges and opportunities and to provide cross-departmental policy recommendations and capacity-building. The department is operationalised through additional charge appointments: the existing Commissioner and Secretary of Fisheries and Archives serves as Commissioner and Secretary of the Department of Future, and the Special Secretary of Personnel, Training and Parliamentary Affairs serves as its Director, enabling immediate advisory and coordination functions across departments.
