<h1>Reliance, BP, and ONGC Form First-Ever Partnership to Win Gujarat Offshore Block in OALP-IX Bidding Round</h1> A consortium of Reliance Industries, BP, and ONGC won the GS-OSHP-2022/2 offshore block in Gujarat during the ninth Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP-IX) bid round. This marks the first collaboration between these three companies. ONGC dominated the round, securing 15 blocks (11 independently and 4 with partners), while Vedanta won 7 blocks despite bidding for all 28 available areas. Oil India secured 9 blocks. The government has launched OALP-X, offering 25 blocks across various water depths in the largest round to date, with bidding closing July 31. Previous OALP rounds have awarded 144 exploration blocks covering 242,055 sq km.
