<h1>Government Appoints NCAER Director General as New RBI Deputy Governor for Three-Year Term</h1> The government has appointed the Director General of the National Council of Applied Economic Research as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India for a three-year term. The appointee, who previously worked at the IMF and World Bank for nearly two decades, is currently a member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister and Convener of the Advisory Council to the 16th Finance Commission. The position became vacant after the previous Deputy Governor left office in January. The appointee has extensive academic experience, having taught at various institutions and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland.
