<h1>RBI Permits Banks to Raise ATM Withdrawal Charges to Rs 23 Per Transaction After Free Limit From May 2025</h1> The Reserve Bank of India has authorized banks to increase ATM withdrawal charges to Rs 23 per transaction beyond the free monthly usage, effective May 1, 2025. Customers are entitled to five free transactions per month at their own bank's ATMs, including both financial and non-financial transactions. Additionally, they can avail of three free transactions at other banks' ATMs in metro areas and five in non-metro areas. Currently, the charge is Rs 21 per transaction after the free limit is exceeded. These new guidelines will also apply to transactions at cash recycler machines, excluding cash deposits.
