<h1>Central Committee Approves Rs 1,604.39 Crore for Fire Services; Sikkim Gets Rs 555.70 Crore for Flood Recovery</h1> A high-level committee has sanctioned Rs 1,604.39 crore for the expansion and modernization of fire services in Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Kerala. Additionally, Sikkim will receive Rs 555.70 crore from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for recovery from glacial lake outburst floods along the Teesta river basin. The central government has allocated Rs 5,000 crore for fire service enhancements, with Rs 3,373.12 crore already approved for 20 states. This year, Rs 19,074.80 crore has been distributed to 28 states under the State Disaster Response Fund, aiming to strengthen disaster management systems in India.
