        <h1>Odisha Reports 2,483 Atrocity Cases Against SC/ST in 9 Months Under Prevention of Atrocities Act; Jajpur Leads.</h1> In the past nine months, Odisha registered 2,483 cases of atrocities against Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe individuals under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The majority of these cases were reported in Jajpur district, with 269 incidents, followed by Cuttack Rural and Jagatsinghpur districts. The BJP, which came to power in June 2024, oversees the investigation of these cases by DSP rank officers. The government is also providing compensation to victims following a joint investigation by police and revenue officials.
