During a state assembly session, it was revealed that 22 hotels in Ahmedabad and six in Gandhinagar have permits for liquor sales. In 2023, Rs 14.45 crore was collected, and Rs 19.53 crore in 2024. No permits have been revoked in this period. The information was provided by the Chief Minister, who oversees the Prohibition and Excise department.
