Mizoram to Launch Universal Healthcare Scheme Offering Rs 5 Lakh Annual Cover; Registration Open for Families
The Mizoram government will soon introduce the Mizoram Universal Healthcare Scheme (MUHCS), providing a Rs 5 lakh annual health cover. The scheme will cater to families across various economic backgrounds, including government employees, and align with the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana for benefits. It offers cashless treatment at state-run and empanelled private or church-run hospitals. Registration for families began in March and will continue until May, with online registration starting in April. Beneficiaries can choose from general, standard, and private plans based on their contributions. Negotiations with private hospitals in Aizawl are ongoing.
