Setting up of NIMZs
Eight Investment Regions under the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) have been announced as NIMZs. The details are as under:-
i. Ahmedabad-Dholera investment Region, Gujarat
ii. Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Park city near Aurangabad, Maharashtra
iii. Manesar-Bawal investment Region Haryana
iv. Khushkhera-Bhiwadi-Neemrana Investment Region, Rajasthan
v. Pithampur-Dhar-Mhow Investment Region, Madhya Pradesh
vi. Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region, Uttar Pradesh
vii. Dighi-Port Industrial Area, Maharashtra and
viii. Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar region in Rajasthan
One NIMZ, outside the DMIC region, at Nagpur in Maharashtra has also been given in principle approval.
The Policy envisages leveraging the existing incentives/schemes of the Government of India and introducing new mechanisms to promote green technologies. These include setting up of a Technology Acquisition and Development Fund (TADF) to support the creation of a patent pool; domestic manufacturing of equipments inter-alia for controlling pollution and reducing energy consumption, environmental audit and green buildings.
Relief from Capital Gains Tax will encourage investment of the income generated from the disposal of unproductive assets like residential properties into manufacturing activity.
This information was given by the Minister of State of Commerce and Industry, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.

National Investment and Manufacturing Zones designation expands incentives and capital gains tax relief to spur reinvestment into manufacturing. Designation of multiple National Investment and Manufacturing Zones establishes a framework to promote manufacturing investment by leveraging existing incentives and introducing mechanisms to promote green technologies. The policy creates a Technology Acquisition and Development Fund to support patent pooling and domestic manufacture of pollution control and energy efficiency equipment, environmental audits and green buildings, and contemplates capital gains tax relief to encourage reinvestment of proceeds from disposal of underutilised assets into manufacturing.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
