National Manufacturing and Investment Zones
Government has sought participation of investors inter-alia from Germany and Britain in the National Investment and Manufacturing Zones (NIMZs) proposed to be set up in the country.
An MoU was signed between the Governments of India and Japan to develop the Delhi- Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). Japan is the partner country in the development of DMIC Project. The Government of Japan announced in December, 2011 its financial support for DMIC projects with Japanese participation to an extent of US $ 4.5 billion in the first phase of the project.
This information was given by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in a written reply to a question raised in the Lok Sabha today.
