India-China Talks Progress on Resuming Direct Flights Suspended Since 2020 Due to Pandemic
Bilateral discussions are underway to resume direct flights between India and China, as confirmed by Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu. These flights, operational until early 2020, were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In January, both countries agreed in principle to restart these services to enhance bilateral relations. Naidu stated that negotiations are ongoing and updates will be provided once finalized. Previously, IndiGo operated flights from Delhi to Chengdu and Kolkata to Guangzhou, while Air India had flights from Delhi to Shanghai, all of which were halted in early 2020.
