Export of Agri-Products

               The exports of agricultural and allied products during 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 are Rs. 64,699.25 crore, Rs. 85,218.53 crore and Rs. 1,41,120.01 crore respectively.

 

               Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is mandated with the responsibility of export promotion and development of agricultural and processed food products which includes following scheduled products:

 

• Fruits, Vegetables and their Products
• Meat and Meat Products
• Poultry and Poultry Products
• Dairy Products
• Confectionery, Biscuits and Bakery Products.
• Honey, Jaggery and Sugar Products
• Cocoa and its products, chocolates of all kinds
• Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages
• Cereal and Cereal Products
• Groundnuts, Peanuts and Walnuts.
• Pickles, Papads and Chutneys
• Guar Gum
• Floriculture and Floriculture Products
• Herbal and Medicinal Plants
•  

               It focuses on promotion of all its scheduled products.

               The internal targets fixed by APEDA for export of some of its important scheduled products are as under:-

Export promotion mandate directs multi-year targets for agri-product export growth across scheduled product groups and sectors. The export promotion mandate assigns responsibility for development and promotion of listed agricultural and processed food product categories and establishes an administrative multi year target framework by product group, with progressively increasing export value targets aggregated into sectoral and consolidated totals to guide export development.
