ED Raids Former Chief Minister's Home in Alleged Liquor Scam Probe; Claims of Political Motivation Arise
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid at the residence of a former Chhattisgarh chief minister, linked to a money laundering investigation involving his son in an alleged liquor scam. The former chief minister, who lives with his family, claimed the Rs 32-33 lakh cash found was due to their large family and farming income. He alleged the raid was politically motivated, following his appointment as Congress's in-charge for Punjab. The ED also searched premises of associates under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The former chief minister criticized the BJP for using such tactics out of frustration.
