<h1>Jharkhand Women's Literacy Surges, Outpacing Men with 2.5% Annual Growth from 2019-2024, Gender Gap Narrows</h1> The literacy rate for women in Jharkhand has increased significantly faster than for men over the past five years, as reported in the state economic survey. From 2019-20 to 2023-24, male literacy grew by 0.47% annually, while female literacy surged by 2.5% annually. By 2023-24, male literacy reached 82.8%, and female literacy rose to 70.6%. The gender disparity index in literacy improved from 0.79 to 0.85, nearing the national index of 0.86. Since achieving statehood in 2000, Jharkhand's overall literacy rate has climbed from 53% to 76%.
