<h1>12,783 Investors Scammed in Rs 130 Crore Torres Investment Fraud; Six Arrested, Nine Still Wanted</h1> The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai police is investigating the Torres investment scam, where 12,783 investors were defrauded of Rs 130 crore. Six individuals have been arrested, while nine others, including eight from Ukraine and one from Turkiye, remain wanted. The accused are suspected of launching similar schemes in Bulgaria under a different company name. EOW has recovered assets worth Rs 35 crore and is seeking court permission to auction company assets to potentially return Rs 40 crore to investors. Platinum Hern Pvt Ltd, associated with the Torres jewellery brand, is implicated in the fraud through Ponzi and multi-level marketing schemes.
