<h1>Urban Unemployment Falls to 6.4% in Q4, Female Rate Drops to 8.1%, Labour Force Participation Rises Slightly</h1> The unemployment rate for individuals aged 15 and above in urban areas decreased to 6.4% in the October-December quarter, as per the National Sample Survey. This rate was consistent with the previous quarter but slightly lower than the 6.5% recorded in the same period the previous year. Female unemployment in urban areas dropped to 8.1% from 8.6% a year earlier, while male unemployment remained stable at 5.8%. The labour force participation rate increased marginally to 50.4%. These findings are part of the 25th Periodic Labour Force Survey conducted by the NSSO, which began in April 2017.
