New Cancer Vaccine for Girls Aged 9-16 Available Soon; Govt Boosts Screening and Waives Medicine Duties
A new vaccine targeting cancers affecting women, specifically breast, oral, and cervical cancers, will be available in five to six months for girls aged nine to 16, according to a Union Minister. The research is nearly complete, and trials are ongoing. In response to the rising number of cancer cases, the government plans to screen women over 30 and establish daycare cancer centers for early detection. Additionally, customs duties on cancer treatment medicines have been waived. The government is also expanding Ayush facilities, with 12,500 health centers currently available nationwide.
