FMS Inclusion to Boost Cycle Exports

India is producing large quantity of cycles as per the data of Central Statistical Organization (CSO) given below:

            With regard to exports, as per the data of DGCI&S, the export  of cycles  is given in Table 2 below:

 To boost Indian exports including cycles, Government has included many countries in Latin America,  Africa and CIS regions in the Focus Market Scheme. Cycles have also been included in the other Special Focus Product List.     

This information was given by the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia  in a written reply in the Lok  Sabha today.

Focus Market Scheme expansion to stimulate cycle exports by adding target markets and designating cycles as special focus product. The government expanded the Focus Market Scheme to include additional countries in Latin America, Africa and the CIS to stimulate cycle exports, and placed cycles on the Special Focus Product List to prioritise promotional support; official production and export statistics for bicycles were cited to frame the sectoral opportunity.
