Increasing Industrial Package for Industries in Assam Operational from 1st April

Government of Assam has requested for extending industrial package to food processing industries.

Industrial Units engaged in food processing in the State of Assam may avail the benefits of National Mission of Food Processing under Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India under 12th Five Year Plan of the Government w.e.f. 1.4.2012.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.

National Mission of Food Processing benefits extended to food processors and made operative from the 12th Five Year Plan start. Extension of an industrial support package makes National Mission of Food Processing benefits available to food processing units in Assam, effective from the commencement of the relevant five-year plan period, allowing eligible State-based food processors to avail incentives and assistance under the Mission's scheme framework and eligibility criteria.
