<h1>Government litigation burden remains high with finance ministry among top litigants; expansion of Fast Track Special Courts for POCSO introduced.</h1> The Government of India is a party to a substantial number of pending cases, with the Ministry of Finance a frequent litigant according to Legal Information Management & Briefing System data. Pursuant to legislative amendment and judicial direction, the Central government instituted a scheme for Fast Track Special Courts, comprising combined rape/POCSO FTSCs and exclusive POCSO courts, now reported operational across several states and union territories to process specified criminal matters.
