<h1>Government Faces 7 Lakh Pending Cases; Finance Ministry Tops List; Fast Track Courts Established for Rape, POCSO Cases</h1> The Central government is involved in nearly seven lakh pending court cases, with the Finance Ministry accounting for about two lakh of these, according to information shared in the Rajya Sabha. The Law Minister highlighted that the government has implemented a scheme to establish Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) following the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2018, and a Supreme Court order. These courts include combined FTSCs for rape and POCSO Act cases, and exclusive POCSO courts. As of December 31, 2024, there are 747 FTSCs, including 406 exclusive POCSO courts, operational in 30 states and union territories.
