Export of Power and Petroleum Products to Pakistan
Bilateral discussions between the leaders of India and Pakistan have stressed on the need to tap into the considerable potential of bilateral economic and trade ties, for mutual progress and prosperity. The way forward has been identified, including possibilities of trade in power and petroleum products. Joint Working Groups have been set up for progressing trade in power and petroleum products.
Trade in petroleum products is ongoing between both countries. Trade in power would first require the building of transmission connectivity. No decision has been taken for such transmission corridor.
This information was given by Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia , Minister of State for Commerce & Industry in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
