<h1>Customs duty exemption proposed for lifesaving drugs to reduce import costs and extend relief to associated bulk drug inputs.</h1> Proposal to fully exempt 36 life saving medicines from Basic Customs Duty and to place six additional life saving medicines on a concessional customs duty rate of five percent, with the same full exemption and concessional treatment extended to the bulk drug inputs used in their manufacture; separately, an expansion of Patient Assistance Programme exemptions by adding 37 medicines and 13 programmes, conditioned on medicines being supplied free of cost to patients.
