<h1>AMRUT Scheme Boosts Water Coverage, Green Spaces; AMRUT 2.0 Projects Worth Rs 1.89 Lakh Crore Launched.</h1> Under the AMRUT scheme, tap water and sewerage coverage in 500 cities have reached 70% and 62%, respectively, as noted in the Economic Survey. The scheme has enhanced water treatment capacity and developed green spaces. AMRUT 2.0, with a budget of Rs 2.77 lakh crore, has initiated projects worth Rs 1.89 lakh crore, engaging self-help groups and innovative technologies. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) has sanctioned 1.18 crore houses, with 89 lakh completed. Metro and rapid rail systems are operational in 29 cities, reducing emissions and costs. The Smart City Mission has completed 7,479 projects worth 1.50 lakh crore.
