Oveview of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor

The Industrial cities taken up for development under Phase-I of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) Project are as follows:-

1. Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad investment Region in the State of Uttar Pradesh

2. Manesar-Bawal Investment Region in the State of Haryana

3. Khushkera-Bhiwadi-Neemrana investment Region in the State of Rajasthan

4. Pithampur-Dhar-Mhow investment Region in the State of Madhya Pradesh

5. Ahmedabad-Dholera investment Region in the State of Gujarat

6. Shendra-Bidkin Mega Industrial Park in the State of Maharashtra and

7. Dighi Port Industrial Area in the State of Maharashtra

During the visit of Japanese Prime Minister to India in December, 2011, the Japanese side has announced US $ 4.5 billion contribution for projects with Japanese participation through appropriate financing from Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Official Development Assistance (ODA) from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to the DMIC facility. The Government of India has approved financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 17, 500 crore over the next five years through the DMIC Project implementation Fund to be set up as a Trust for the development of industrial cities @Rs. 2500 crore per city on an average subject to a ceiling of Rs. 3000 crore per city.

The progress and implementation of projects in DMIC will depend upon the availability of land, scale and size of projects, various approvals from different States and the Central Government agencies etc.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.

Industrial corridor development financing established; central trust fund and pledged multilateral support conditioned on land and approvals. The Government established a financing framework for Phase I of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor identifying seven industrial city clusters for priority development and creating a Project Implementation Fund as a Trust to provide central assistance with average and capped per city allocations. Complementary Japanese financing was pledged for participating projects. Implementation and fund disbursement are subject to land availability, project scale, and necessary state and central approvals.
