Registration of New Companies

 

            The Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs Shri R.P.N. Singh today informed the Rajya  Sabha that  every year new companies get registration for business in the country and the number of companies registered during 2008-08, 2009-10 ,2010-11 and 2011-12 and up to March 2012 along with the break-up of Public Limited and Private Limited  companies is given at Annexure-I.

            Under the Companies Act, 1956, the term  ‘ancillary company’  is not defined, and hence, no such data is separately maintained in the ministry.

            The Minister was replying to a written question whether it is a fact that every year new companies get registration for business in the country, number of companies registered during 2008-08, 2009-10 ,2010-11 and 2011-12 and up to March 2012, the brak up detail of Public and Private companies and the number of such companies out of them which were registered as ‘ancillary company’  during the above period.

Company registration trends: annual counts reported with public/private breakdown; 'ancillary company' not separately recorded by ministry. The ministry reported annual company registration totals with a Public Limited and Private Limited breakdown for the reported years and cumulatively up to March 2012. Under the Companies Act, 1956 the term 'ancillary company' is not defined, and therefore the ministry does not maintain or report separate statistics for ancillary companies; published data reflects only the public/private classification.
