Established in 1965, the plant's capacity will rise from 5.25 MTPA, creating 2,500 permanent and 10,000 indirect jobs. The expansion includes technological upgrades and aims to reduce carbon emissions, aligning with India's self-reliance and decarbonization goals. Renewable energy initiatives are part of the plan. The Minister also inspected the Tasra coal mine and Chasnala Washery, which aim to enhance domestic coal supply and efficiency in steel production, supporting India's economic growth and self-reliance.
