Kerala Ration Dealers End Strike After Successful Talks; Minister Promises Timely Commission Payments and Increases.
Ration dealers in Kerala ended their indefinite strike after successful negotiations with the state Food and Civil Supplies Minister. The strike involved five organizations and was initiated to demand an increase in commission and timely payments. The dealers sought commission payments by the 10th or 15th of each month. The minister assured that payments would be made on time, following discussions with the Finance Department. The Ration Traders Coordination Committee had initially announced the strike after prior talks failed to meet their demands. All ration shops will resume normal operations from Tuesday.
