A partnership between the Gujarat government's Department of Science and Technology and Microsoft initiated the center's development. It will focus on machine learning, cognitive services, and chatbot services, supporting government and industry with timely services, innovation, and technological advancement in sectors like manufacturing, healthcare, and education. An Innovation Challenge was launched, awarding MSMEs for AI and IoT solutions. The government has also formed a Gujarat AI Task Force to enhance governance using AI.
