        International Price of Crude Oil - Indian Basket inches Closer to 124 BBL on 26.3.2012

        The international crude oil prices for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas increased to US$ 123.98 per barrel (bbl). The price, computed and published by PPAC on their website is based on last trading day’s figures of 26.03.2012. The price previously computed/ published on 26.03.2012 based on trading figures of 23.03.2012, was US$ 123.21 per bbl.

        In rupee terms also, the crude oil price was higher at Rs 6361.41  against Rs 6272.62 per bbl published on 23.03.2012, due to higher crude oil price in dollar and further rupee depreciation with rupee/dollar exchange rate at Rs 51.31/US$ on 26.03.2012 against Rs 50.91/US$   on 23.03.2012.
