The Ministry of Food Processing Industries provided financial assistance to food processing units through grants covering 25% of costs for plant machinery and technical civil works, with a cap of Rs. 50 lakh in general areas and 33.33% up to Rs. 75 lakh in challenging regions like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and North Eastern States. This initiative aims to boost the production of safe and hygienic packaged food items. The information was disclosed in a written response to a parliamentary question.
