The Board, chaired by a newly appointed leader, will include representatives from various ministries and states. It aims to increase turmeric productivity, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and promote research and development of turmeric products. The Board will also ensure quality standards and explore new markets. India, producing over 70% of the global turmeric supply, exported 1.62 lakh tonnes valued at 226.5 million USD in 2023-24.
