Jharkhand High Court Gives ED Four Weeks to Respond to Ex-Ranchi Deputy Commissioner's Detention Challenge.
The Jharkhand High Court has granted the Enforcement Directorate (ED) four weeks to respond to a petition by a former Ranchi Deputy Commissioner challenging his detention. The official, arrested by the ED for alleged involvement in the fraudulent sale of army land in Ranchi, is accused of money laundering and colluding with builders and the land mafia. His bail plea was previously dismissed by the Supreme Court. The ED has provisionally attached land parcels worth Rs 161.64 crore, claiming they were fraudulently transferred to the land mafia with the help of land revenue officers. Fourteen arrests have been made in the case.
