<h1>National Electricity Plan Targets 500 GW Renewable Energy by 2030 with Major Investments in Storage and Transmission Upgrades.</h1> The National Electricity Plan (Transmission) aims to transmit 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030 and over 600 GW by 2032. Launched by a Cabinet Minister, the plan includes 47 GW of battery storage and 31 GW of pumped storage. It outlines the addition of 1,91,000 ckm of transmission lines and 1270 GVA of transformation capacity by 2032, with a focus on green hydrogen hubs. Inter-regional capacity will increase to 168 GW by 2032. The plan also explores cross-border connections and new technologies, presenting an investment opportunity of over INR 9,15,000 Crores in the transmission sector.
