<h1>Finance Minister Reviews Northeast Regional Rural Banks' Performance; Profitability Increases Significantly.</h1> The Union Finance Minister chaired a meeting in Itanagar to review the performance of seven Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) in the Northeast, covering states like Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. The meeting highlighted improved financial performance, with profitability rising from a loss of Rs. 11 crore in FY 2023 to a net profit of Rs. 205 crore in FY 2024. The Minister urged RRBs to enhance credit disbursement for agriculture and allied activities, promote Farmer Producer Organizations, and expand banking services in underserved areas. Emphasis was also placed on covering eligible individuals under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
